SAWTOOTH OAK
Native: Asia

Sawtooth oak leaves display a vibrant transition in color throughout the year. They emerge a bright yellow in the spring, then turn a lustrous dark green in the summer, before finally settling into a golden to a copper brown in the fall.
Sawtooth oaks produce acorns, which are large with fringed caps, at a very young age, form in clusters along the branches and provide food for many kinds of wildlife, especially wild turkeys.
Surrated along the oblong leaf edges, which gives the tree its name “sawtooth”. They can also be identified by the alternate arrangement of leaves along the stem.
The leaves create colorful interest all year long!
