SAWTOOTH OAK

Native: Asia

Scientific name: Quercus acutissima

Sawtooth oak leaves display a vibrant transition in color throughout the year. They emerge a bright yellow in the spring, then turn a lustrous dark green in the summer, before finally settling into a golden to a copper brown in the fall.

Sawtooth oaks produce acorns, which are large with fringed caps, at a very young age, form in clusters along the branches and provide food for many kinds of wildlife, especially wild turkeys.
